Research Papers 101

A study paper, sometimes known as a research report, is a composed piece of academic writing that gives interpretation, evaluation, and perspective based on extensive independent research from many different sources. Research papers, such as all other written works, are usually very long and very detailed, usually intended to test not just your study skills but also your research customs. Sometimes, research papers are required for higher degrees such as a PhD. Much as any other written work, study papers have specific features which make them easy to write and hard to read.
